Mastery of self-care is mastery of one’s wellness. When we are balanced in our mental, physical and emotional health we have wellness. Our culture has become saturated with distractions, over-stimulation, instant gratification and quick fixes. We can counteract these diversions and stressors by becoming more mindful, and proactive in our own self care and health care.
How good can we be at taking care of others if we don’t take care of ourselves? Learning self-care techniques empowers you to be able to help yourself without being dependent on others to “fix” you. Practicing mindfulness and awareness are powerful tools to help us stay on track with healthy choices. My goal is to empower you in your self-care with tools and techniques to help you maintain your well-being while navigating the demands of life. To hit the “reset” button, so to speak. Self-care is a practice and should be a regular part of your ongoing self-maintenance program.
When we take care of ourselves we are being PROACTIVE instead of REACTIVE to stress, pain and injury.
